No Pictures

I lied, no pictures today. I couldn't find the cord that connects the base for my camera to my computer. And now I'm leaving on vacation for a week (yes, right after I got back to the States.. it's to visit my grandparents). But when I get back I should have my computer back and be able to post pictures of the following:

-- the Wollmeise I ordered/received right before coming back (gorgeous!)
-- Darmstadt with Jenny (tons fo fun!)
-- last night hanging out with Dominic (he's awesome)
-- the package I received from my Secret Facebook Knitting Pal!
-- my latest knitting projects (lots of socks!)

Back in the U S of A

Hey, I'm back in the States safe and sound. My bags only weighed a GAZILLION kilos... no. really. I knit a little on the plane, but there was a 9-12 month old next to me who wanted to play during the flight, so it was either that or have him cry. I will have some pictures and such up eventually. I promise. I feel like a very bad blogger. I'll try for tomorrow, because Sunday my family is going to visit my grandparents for a week and I won't have access to a computer really. OK. pictures TOMORROW. I promise.

Leaving on a Jetplane

Well, in T minus 6.5 hours I am taking the first of 4 flights to get me home. It is definitely bittersweet, but I think at this point more sweet than bitter. Anyways, I will write again once I am home and have had some sleep. I have my second of the Trekking socks all set to knit. Maybe I'll even finish it today... I do have 18+ hours of travelling I'm doing...

Beeeeeeep Beep Beep

That's the sound my computer makes when I try to turn it on. Apparently that means there is something wrong with the video card, though nothing happened to it between me turning it off last night and trying to turn it on this morning. Sigh. I really don't need to deal with this right now. Anyways, this means no picture posts... and probably not many other posts... while I work this out. I can update slightly from work, but I have lots of other stuff to do too.

Hopefully I'll write again soon!

I'm Becoming a Smurf

So I think my fingers are now permanently blue. But the good news is that I finished my first of the Sidewinder socks.

The increases and decreases on the heels and toes don't really match (the decreases bump up a lot more than the increases) and that kind of bothers me.

Also the toe join is weird... because the Kitchener is done from the wrong side.

OK, umm. I guess that's all I really have to say for now. The first sock went really quickly, so I think I'm going to try to finish the second one the beginning of this coming week. I'm going to save the second of the Simple Trekking socks for the flights home because I'm doing them on my bamboo needles. Hopefully airport security will be ok with that. They should be.
